About the Founder
Katrina B. Pescador
Institutional Strategy & Operations Advisor
Katrina B. Pescador is a museum and nonprofit leader, historian, advisor, and author with more than 30 years of experience in institutional operations, collections stewardship, historical preservation, planning, documentation, public engagement, and organizational development.
Experience From Multiple Perspectives
Throughout her career, Katrina has supported museums as a volunteer, staff member, department leader, board member, and consultant. This range of experience has given her a practical understanding of how institutional decisions affect the people responsible for governance, leadership, daily operations, collections care, public service, and implementation.
Her experience includes more than two decades of sustained work at her current museum, along with assisting more than ten other museums with documentation. Working across institutions with different histories, resources, staffing levels, and operational needs has strengthened her understanding of the practical challenges museums face when trying to organize information, preserve knowledge, meet professional expectations, and turn plans into consistent practice.
Her work has included responsibility for collections, archives, research services, exhibitions, restoration programs, volunteer engagement, public history, and operations across multiple departments and locations. She has also led or supported accreditation preparation, institutional and collections planning, policy and procedure development, records systems, digitization initiatives, grant-funded projects, emergency preparedness, and cross-departmental implementation.
Working from different positions within museums has shaped her approach to advising organizations. Plans and recommendations must account for more than professional standards. They must also reflect available resources, staff capacity, institutional culture, competing priorities, and the realities of putting decisions into practice.

WRITING & PUBLICATIONS
Katrina is also an experienced author whose work spans aviation history, institutional practice, technology and artificial intelligence, leadership, memoir, and other nonfiction. Her professional and historical writing reflects the same concerns that shape Written Forward: how knowledge is preserved, how decisions are documented, how institutions remain accountable, and how complex ideas can be made clear without losing judgment or context.
Writing has always been part of her professional work. She translates research, history, operational knowledge, and complicated institutional questions into language that people can understand and apply. For Written Forward, strong writing is not separate from institutional strategy. It is one of the tools that makes strategy visible, understandable, and durable.
That combination of operational experience and writing expertise shapes the Written Forward approach: begin with how an organization actually functions, then use assessment, analysis, planning, and documentation to clarify responsibilities, preserve institutional knowledge, strengthen accountability, and create systems people can understand and use. Written Forward Advisory maintains appropriate separation between client engagements and the founder’s other professional and board responsibilities.
